SXSW 2015

I went down to SXSW during the film start. It was a life bonding trip with my God son. We had some life and death experiences before we even arrived.
The music and culture is unbelievable. I love it! I recommend it for everyone.

Watch “Louise’s Fried Plantains with Mojo Sauce” on YouTube

Louise’s Fried Plantains with Mojo Sauce: http://youtu.be/OlMMsWUYGQU
I Love to cook great food. Beginning to start a new section on my website for food. I’m a Foodie. I confess. It is a great passion of mine. From the smiles and requests I think I’m good at it.

I smoked some shark in October after going deep sea fishing with my father in  Galveston, TX. The ocean was good to me.

My slow mesquite smoked ribs are great. I’ve discovered a

special

ingredient that makes my sauce unique. This isn’t Texas style BBQ sauce. This is my own special sauce unlike any other.
My brother wouldn’t watch the fire for me so I had to use something I had. My buddy had just returned from a trip to South America with some seasons for me. I created some greatness out of necessity.

I take pride in my cooking. I smoke meat up to 24hrs without sleeping. I make everything from scratch and grow my own herbs.
Next year I’m going hunting so expect deer chili, quail skewers, and hog carnitas.

Saints & Heroes

Art can be a religion. I definitely have a religious experience without any guidelines while painting.

Apache #4 Apart of Made In The USA series

image

I was stuck trying to paint. I had came up with the series theme 2 weeks ago. Yet, I couldn’t figure out what I wanted. I went out on Thursday for drinks with Marine Corps buddies of mine. I came home and passed out. I had dreams of some people I admired. When I woke my alarm played Johnny Cash’s “When A Man Comes.” I instantly was inspired to paint Native Americans that fought in war. “Apache #4″ is a dedication to Geronimo’s warrior spirit.  The graffiti background was made 2 weeks ago. The context is of the caves where ancient tribal paintings were found. Giving thought to how graffiti was created by Native Americans.  Something to think about definitely.
The prints go on sale tomorrow at the Art Goggle in Fort Worth, Texas. (Google it) email me at tonyesco.te@gmail.com for pricing. 8″x10″ and 11″x14”

Declutter Your Prose: Three More Phrases to Avoid

Oh boy! I need a few more composition classes.

The Daily Post

In the spring, we noted some examples of phrases that might be distracting or unnecessary in your prose. Since many of you found these suggestions helpful, here’s another round of phrases to avoid:

1. In today’s blog…

blog is your site, posts and pages and all. What you probably meant to write is: “In today’s post…” Or: “In today’s blog post…” Posts make up the content you create on a regular basis, while your blog is your complete online home, your site, on which you publish your posts.

That said, think back to other introductory phrases we’ve talked about: “In this post, I will explain…” or “Today, I will write about…”

This phrase, too, is unnecessary:

In today’s blog, I’d like to share some of the best…
